Hello Lovelies,
I cannot even tell you how excited I am to finally get to share this book with you. It has been out since April 9th because the fabulous Jillian Dodd likes to release books early and I have been going crazy not posting a review. As most of you know this is by far my favorite series. It may be classified as YA because the characters are in high school but I find that their age is not influential on my feelings. It reminds me a little of Gossip Girl back when they were in HS. Anyway this series is written as 6 shorter, but still not short, novels that span a few weeks. I think Jillian has said the entire series is over one year. Date Me is the third book in the series and you can check out the other reviews in our We Love Jillian page. The order for the books is 1) Stalk Me, 2) Kiss Me, 3) Date Me, 4) Love Me, 5) Hate Me, 6) Come and Get Me. Love Me (#4) will hopefully be released this summer around July.
Date Me by Jillian Dodd
I’m not scripting my life anymore.
I’m living it.
I’m done with the God of all Hotties.
I’m going to give my heart to the boy who I think deserves it.
The boy whose kisses are hotter than molten lava.
The boy who offered me the key to his heart.
The boy who asked me to Homecoming in a big, sexy way.
There are so many things to look forward to.
Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY.
But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
I find out that my best friend has been keeping a secret from me.
Not that I can blame him.
I have secrets too.
But, for now, I’m going to pretend I’m just a normal girl.
I’m going to pretend he’s not still out there.
I’m going to pretend he’s not getting desperate.
I’m going to pretend I’ll never see him again.
But, I will.
And this time, I might not get away.

Amanda: I fell in love with lots of boys during this book! This series had me all over the place in the beginning. I am Team Keatyn, meaning that I usually am all for whatever the flavor of the week is. I do have my favorites, I loved Cush and I currently love Damian for her but I just want her to be happy no matter what.
That’s what Jillian does when you read her books, she gets you so involved in her characters that you may have trouble deciding whats real or not. I mean there are even groups on Facebook just for discussing the books and all the theories behind them. I am in 2 of the groups! She has shared part of her writing process as well as some of her fears, motivations and theories on these Facebook pages and tries to get her fans involved in the stories. This is why so many people love her.
This book in the series is more about finding out more about the secondary characters, like why did Aiden go to Eastbrooke and what about Peyton. We even get to meet Dawson’s baby brother Braxton which I can tell you he is hilarious. Keatyn’s guys are more prominent in this story. We hear more from Damian! 😉 We learn secrets that both Dallas and Riley were hiding. And most of my favorite parts of this book involve those 2 boys, the pick up lines (one involving lucky charms), the video they make, and them growing as friends as they share their secrets.
There is also crazy drama, Whitney likes to stir the pot and does something we may never recover from. There may be a rebellion coming on soon! AND Vincent makes some heart stopping appearances. This book had me screaming at my kindle while trying to close my eyes and read at the same time. Trust me you do not want to miss it.
There are some fantastic french quotes that even Keatyn has to ponder and someone finally declares their love while another is declaring their intentions. Then BAM… the ending will kill you in an amazing way. Most of you will be saying I knew it was going to happen but it was sweet satisfaction when it actually did. Now waiting until July for Love Me!
I promise you that you will love this series and when you do go to Jillian Dodd’s Facebook page and get added into the Keatyn Chronicles Addicts page where Jillian posts teasers and longer sneak peeks to the upcoming books. There is already one from Love Me and one from book 6, Come and Get Me! I worship the words of Jillian Dodd ❤
Misty: So I have to start out by saying that I love this book and I am in love with this series! I wish they were all out now!
That aside I think this might be my favorite so far (but I’ll probably say that every time). I love how we got some more Vincent action, I was worried about that in the last book. (How did all her problems go away?) As always I loved the clothes and really makes me wish I could go shopping, with her bank account of course 🙂
I do need to say my favorite boy is Dallas, he’s adorable with his pick-up lines and is always willing to be a great friend to Keatyn.
That being said Riley is a close favorite. He’s so protective and treats Keatyn really well. “Your rug and I are having a hot affair” literally made me laugh hard. These are the characters that I think have the most depth and interesting facets written about them.
Overall the story was well written and thought out and I will say again, I LOVED it!
P.S. I’m not sure if I’m the only one but Garret gives me the serious sketch vibe, I really wonder if I’m right or wrong about this!
