Book Review: Chasing Beautiful by Pamela Ann

Hello lovelies

I just literally 2 minutes ago, finished Chasing Beautiful by Pamela Ann and I had to rush over here to tell y’all about it. Here we go… Book blurb:

What would you do if you had two hot men fight over you?

An orphan at the age of seven, there was one thing that Sienna Richards didn’t do easily–give her heart. She made that mistake once by trusting and giving her heart to her childhood best friend and ex-boyfriend, Kyle Matthews. When Sienna left for London to study, she was taken aback when Kyle told her that he’s been seeing someone else.

Hurt and betrayed, Sienna decided to fly back to LA to confront him. The whole idea of “closure” was definitely a bad idea. She immediately left, deflated and aggrieved. Back in London, Sienna was surprised when her very good friend, the magnetic Blake Knightly, seemed to be determined to have her. Blake was relentless but will not settle until he gets ALL of Sienna.

Women clamored to be the handsome aristocratic Blake. Who could possibly resist a compelling man that drew such power and commanded attention by simply just breathing?

When Sienna was about to give in, fate stepped in and muddled her mind and heart once again. Kyle moves to London to be close to her. If Sienna thought her life was in shambles before, she should think again.

Rating: 4 stars
Now I need to preface this by letting you all know that the 4 stars are solely based on story line. This book has some pretty annoying grammatical errors, the worst being that towards the beginning there are missing words and duplicate verbs. This caused a very jarring experience for me and I am not the picky one when it comes to grammar, that is Heather the English teachers job! So if I was put off by it most likely you will too. Since we are starting with the cons I will bring up another then we will go to the pros. The character development is not there, it takes almost the entire book to find out information about the characters. You get very basic information and are shoved into this world and expected to care. Now Pros… It is based in London, come on, I love it. And any man that speaks with a British accent or uses the word poppet is delicious in my book. Sign me up immediately! The cover is beautiful. The story is good, I cannot say it is overly unique or derivative but if you are liking the YA/ contemporary romance novels these days you will like this novel. The ending is definitely a shocker, I was all ready for it to end and I checked and I was at like 91% or something. Then what happened next was amazing and I loved every breathtaking second of it. Also anytime an author takes a playboy and turns him into a monogamist I am hooked, that’s the crazy dream most women have but most know isn’t likely to happen. Love it when it happens in romance. Because the ending is such a whirlwind there is a second book called Chasing Imperfection. I will be reading it tonight just because I cannot handle the waiting if the book is out. Sadly I also just noticed there is a third book that will not be out until Spring 2013. This book is worth a shot and hopefully she will go back and edit this book. She does have an editor for the second book.
