With Me In Seattle Series: Do I love it?

Hello Lovelies,

So today instead of doing actual work aka reading books I am supposed to review I started a new series that seemed very promising. I thought I would share my thoughts! This is going to be a review on books 2 & 3 of the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. I found this series by people posting really sexy lines from the 2 books I read and I thought I would give them a shot. Plus they are currently on sale on Amazon. 🙂

Fight With Me (With Me In Seattle #2) by Kristen Proby

16090636Blurb: Jules Montgomery is too busy and content with her life to worry about a man, especially one Nate McKenna. If growing up with four brothers has taught her anything, she knows to stay away from sexy men with tattoos and motorcycles. That goes double if he’s your boss. During the one incredible night they shared, he violated the no fraternization policy…among other things, and it won’t happen again. Jules won’t risk her career for mind-blowing sex, no matter how much her body and her damn heart keep arguing with her.

Nate McKenna could give a shit about the no fraternizing policy. He wants Jules and he’ll have her. The rules could bend around them, or be damned. He’s not a man to be taken lightly, and Jules Montgomery is about to find out just how he responds to being pushed aside after the best night of sex he’s ever had. She can fight all she wants, but he’ll have her in his bed in the end.

FIGHT WITH ME is the second novel in the With Me In Seattle Series.

I am not really sure what to think about this… Overall I think it’s a 3 star book. Lots of sex and not too much of anything else, it does get better towards the end. Nate has my favorite piercing 😉 and he is sweet but really he just reminds me of an old guy trying to impress his teen girlfriend. I know he is only 30 but he talked about how rich he was and that he wanted to spoil her, the 26 yr old ex playmate. Which was weird in the story, it never felt like it fit (the playmate part). I also was not a fan of how beautiful everyone was, we don’t need to hear how skinny and pretty Jules is every 5 seconds. The sex was sometimes beyond hot (motorcycle)! And sometimes boring but still there was too much. And that’s crazy talk coming from me. It’s about quality not quantity! Also the prologue is them sleeping together for the first time so we never know when they met and there was no build up! Also her BFF nat was fun (“tattoo on your vagina”) but I never got a smidgen of her story. I realize the come away with me is first but these books need to hold their own as well. Regardless parts of this book were great which leads to the 3 stars instead of less. This one just didn’t blow me away! Something I did like was that it wasn’t a book about him trying to win her attention, he had her the whole book and the obstacles the couple faced were small and didn’t have me ready to toss my iPad in the garbage! They made up quickly and seemed to be a great couple. I wish there had been more depth in the story and character backgrounds. Maybe then I would have loved this book! I should mention that if I could write a description of my perfect guy Nate would be him to a T (tattooed, perfect piercing, in a suit at work and rough but sweet) and it really disappoints me to not love this book.

Play With Me (With Me In Seattle #3) by Kristen Proby

17201095Blurb: Will Montgomery is a successful professional football player and seemingly has it all. He’s not used to being told no, and certainly doesn’t take no for an answer. So when he turns his charms on his sister’s sexy rocker-chick friend Meg, he’s not only turned down, but met with open hostility, piquing his curiosity and libido. He’s determined to show her that he’s not the arrogant jock she thinks he is, and to get her into his bed.

Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him, or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?

This one is definitely better than number 2 and I really enjoyed it. The ending however just fell flat for me. I wasn’t paying attention to the percent and I was happily reading thinking we were getting some place good when I flip the page and it says epilogue. I was groaning thinking seriously, wtf! And even the epilogue wasn’t that great. The reason I read this book was because I was curious to see how much of Jules and Nate would be in this so I got the sample and loved it, immediately bought it and kept reading. There is a good deal of the HEA for Nate and Jules so maybe I will read Rock With Me to finish off Meg and Will’s story. I did love these characters and the writing was better than book 2. This book was very funny, drunk girls telling the brothers they want orgasms! Good times. Something that bothered me though was that all the women talk about is how hot the brothers are even in front of their men. I posted in my status update that i honestly think one day one of the women will end up in bed with a different Montgomery man. I still have not read Come Away With Me, book 1. So this may be part of my character confusion problem, aka who is Brynna! The sex was still repetitive and I got super tired of reading things like “in me now” and “you’re so tight” its cliche in the worst way! But all time favorite line was in this book… “When I take you, you’ll know exactly what we’re doing, what you’re feeling, and I won’t stop until your legs are shaking and the neighbors know my name.” This series makes me slightly confused because I don’t love the books but I cannot stop reading them to find out if it all works out. Plus the only character I really wanted to get a side story on was Caleb and the author seems to pick everyone but him!

I found out that the author will be writing a story about Caleb (Safe With Me) so that’s cool but she is releasing Leo’s story (Rock With Me) next and that comes out  May 2, 2013.
Here is the deal, I don’t want to ruin this for anyone because a lot of people love these books, I am just not sure how much I like them. I want to know more about the lives of the characters but the books aren’t amazing. There was just so much potential in this series. I probably will keep reading them to see what happens and if they get better. There was already a vast improvement between book 2 and 3.  Make up your own mind about it and let me know!

And because it is mentioned in both my reviews here is the link to book 1, Come Away With Me. Currently on sale for $0.99.
