Hello Lovelies
I have been reading a ton on my vacation and I just love sharing what I think. So This Man has not been out that long, it was released in October 2012 but I have been hearing so much about the character Jesse Ward that I finally gave in and had to figure out what everyone was so flustered about. I can totally see, he is one hot man. This series is great for people that liked Fifty Shades of Grey and for others that may not have enjoyed the BDSM aspect of that story. This book is pure delicious ravenous sex! And since the second in the This Man Trilogy came out recently I will tell you about that book as well. Enjoy! 😉
This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Blurb: Young interior designer Ava O’Shea has an appointment for a first consultation at The Manor with the owner, Mr Jesse Ward. She is expecting nothing more than an overweight, cravat wearing, well-to-do countryman, and on arrival, nothing would suggest otherwise. How wrong could she be? This Man is devastatingly handsome, charming and confident. He is also a conceited, hedonistic playboy, who knows no boundaries. Ava desperately does not want to be attracted to him, but she can’t control the overwhelming affect he has on her. Every instinct is telling her to run, so she does, but Jesse Ward is not so willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her. She knows she is heading for heartbreak, but how can she run when he won’t let her?

This book is steamy, but the relationship is volatile. I liked this book a lot, nothing really happens during it. It is about Ava who falls in love with Jesse. They have normal relationship drama but he is really controlling. There is a small secret that Jesse is hiding, besides his age, but I knew from the beginning what it was. Other than that I really like jealous/domineering men so I enjoyed this book. I was smitten with him just by his playful side alone, the fact that he tells her a different age every time she asks, adorable. Oh yeah big down side is that she uses the word brought instead of bought and stood instead of stand and that started to drive me crazy. There were also weird phrases that I thought no one in the world actually says this. These mistakes were constant throughout the book so I had to deduct a star for that.
Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Blurb: She knew she was heading towards disaster. Every instinct told her to run, but Jesse Ward was a hard man to escape.
It has been five days’ since Ava O’Shea left Jesse drunk and raging at Lusso – left behind a man who drowned her in his intensity and blindsided her with his touch. Getting over this man was never going to be easy.
And now he’s back in her life.
She has questions that she needs answering, but her determination to get these answers will give the pleasure-seeking playboy the power to destroy her again. She needs to keep her eyes wide open and caution at the forefront of her mind – an ambitious intention when Jesse Ward is within touching distance.
And he plans to be.
He’s dark, he’s broken – Ava knows this, but the only way to find out how dark and how broken is to get beneath the steely exterior of this man.

These books are fun but don’t read them in hopes of a dynamic plot they are purely about the relationship. I loved the banter between Ava and Jesse, it was fun and when she would run from him I just laughed. I was captivated though, I could not stop reading, I love the 2 of them together and I just want them to be happy. Once again not too much happens, the most important things that happen are we find out how old Jesse is (we play the game again for a little while) and the ending. I love stories like this, it is just about the progression of their relationship. I don’t need secrets, drama and break ups or other people trying to get involved even though there is some of that. This book is more like a real life story, because not too many people in real life have dealings with drug dealers, mafia, or other criminals that endanger their lives. The ending was fantastic! There is no cliffhanger and I feel like the 3rd book is just going to be an epilogue, but I know she will have something to cause us grief. If you want to escape in a good romance this is a great series.
