Getting caught up!

Hello Lovelies,

I loved that Amanda started her post out that way, so I say it stays. I have read some amazing books this year and it is only January 31. It looks like it is going to be a great year. I have several posts that I want to do in the next few days but since I am supposed to be writing a lesson plan, I will keep this one short. Here are some of my favorite books of the year so far that are not on Amanda list.

Love and Other Perishable Items

I loved this book. It has everything a reader could want. Awkward situations…check. Love, lust, and romance….check. Hilarious banter….check. Multiply point of view…..check. Epistolary style novel…..check. I loved the journal esk layout and the banter between Chris and Amelia. I also loved all of the literary references throughout the book. I also got an education on feminism, which is a bonus. I felt like the main plot was very sweet and fun while the secondary plot was very emotional and deep. The story of the character’s home life really brought the story to life and tied it all together.

Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend

Ahhh, I loved this book. I loved that the book was from Brody’s point of view. I thought he was funny. I also really liked that the characters had a relationship and did not just fall in love the second they see each other. That drives me crazy. I love Hayley. She is so fun and quirky. I highlighted so many phrases on my kindle that made me laugh, thanks to Hayley. Great book!

Hopeless

Wow, this was an amazing story. Hopeless no I think Breathless, because that it what I was when I finished this book. First off, I have to say I loved how the name of the novel was created. When I reached that part in the book I was surprised, pleased, happy, and in ahh. The characters are great, I fell in love with Sky and Holder. P.S. is there a cooler name than Holder? I think not. The story itself was flawless. It flowed together even with complex plot twist. I loved all of the twists and turns the story took. I was on the edge of my couch for the last two hundred pages. This book will be in my to read again pile. Colleen Hoover does it again, another 5 star read.
